Bio

Luke Stedrak, Ed.D., MBA, is a Professor and distinguished scholar in the field of educational leadership and policy.  He currently serves at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he was honored with the prestigious Hibernia National Bank Endowed Professorship.  Dr. Stedrak earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Florida and later distinguished himself further with an MBA, cementing his reputation as a national authority in school finance.


Dr. Stedrak's research agenda is deeply rooted in the critical areas of school finance, law, and public policy.  His scholarly work has made profound contributions to these fields, consistently appearing in leading academic journals.  His expertise is regularly sought by major media outlets, including The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Wall Street Journal, and Inside Higher Ed, where his insights have significantly influenced public discourse.


Throughout his career, Dr. Stedrak has been the recipient of numerous prestigious accolades, notably the National Education Finance Academy's Distinguished Research and Practice Fellowship.  This esteemed award is conferred upon individuals who have achieved national recognition and demonstrated sustained excellence in research and practice within public education finance, encompassing both K-12 and higher education sectors.  Dr. Stedrak’s leadership extends beyond academia, having previously served as Chief of Staff for the National Education Finance Academy and currently is on its Board of Advisors.


In addition, Dr. Stedrak has made impactful contributions to the Education Law Association as a member of its Board of Directors.  The Education Law Association stands as the nation’s foremost authority on legal issues affecting education, providing vital insights and guidance to educators and institutions across K-12 and higher education landscapes.


Dr. Stedrak is also a dedicated mentor, having guided numerous dissertation students through their doctoral journeys.  His commitment to their success is exemplified by one of his mentees winning a prestigious national Dissertation of the Year award, further underscoring his influence as an educator and scholar.
